See One. Do One. Teach One.
My personal creative process is simple:
Inspiration is everywhere, but sometimes when you’re in that creative process, you get stuck with no image in mind, and always ends up with not doing anything and lose the moment.
So what do I do? I collect.
I collect images, pictures both from internet and pictures taken from anything and everywhere. (thanks to mobile technology). Making sure that they will always be accessible when needed to.
Whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–I get inspired, collect, sometimes even buy or simply just admire and contemplate.
What’s important is that, I train my eyes, pause and respond at things that gets my attention.
I am sure we can all agree that it’s a total turn-off to be around people who talks a lot but shows no work.
It would be a lie to say that I don’t aim to have a beautiful art piece, however, it is also not my main purpose why I do art. It’s about the whole experience. Using my senses, like, the smell of the paint, varnish, paper etc (I believe till today that I have healthy lungs) getting to try to use different brushes, the texture that those brushes will create, to feel the paper or canvass, the different colors that blend together, and most of all I look forward to the surprise of a finished piece.
It’s the journey of creating that excites me to do art.
Art is not solely for personal enjoyment. Don’t get me wrong, the art is first and foremost for the artisan, to love and enjoy, but it doesn’t end there.
It is to be shared with others.
The experience. What we’ve learned, collaborate amongst others and most of all, to invite others to have the courage to create.
The art. It is to speak to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and comfort.
Let’s flood social media with artworks/ images that will breathe life to the world. It only takes us to see one, do one and teach one.
Now, let’s create!
